Here at St. Lawrence, we are graced with a beautiful garden, now named in honor of Fr. Franklyn McAfee whose tireless work in and with the garden is reflected in the beauty seen today.  The beauty of the garden, however, requires nearly constant upkeep, attention, and work.  The members of the Rose Garden Ministry help to maintain the garden in a beautiful state by weeding, mulching, tending, and looking after it.

If you wish to use your gardening talents to enhance the beauty of our garden here, please let us know by contact the Parish Office at 703-971-4379 or email.

“As one of the oldest plants on earth, the rose has long been regarded as the queen of flowers and, for that reason, has always bee associated with the Virgin Mary and the best qualities of womanhood.” –Father Franklyn McAfee

So much occurs behind the scenes supporting the beautiful liturgies celebrated here at St. Lawrence.

Much of the thanks for this fact goes to the tireless efforts of many behind-the-scenes individuals, but particularly the work of the sacristans and their assistants.  This ministry includes helping set up for the weekday and weekend Masses, helping with arrangements for Funeral Masses, and assisting in major liturgical celebration in the seasonal Church calendar–like Christmas and, most notably, Holy Week.

If you want to help us worship our Lord in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and other sacraments please contact Father Gripshover at 703-971-4378 or via email.

Donated, non-perishable food items and gift cards are sorted and packed before both Thanksgiving and Christmas for delivery to our parish members in need.

If you want to volunteer for this Corporal Work of Mercy or if you know of anyone who is in need of a basket on Thanksgiving or Christmas please contact Cathy Crawford at 703-971-4378 or via email.

The youth choir is open to all youth of the parish from ages 8 to 16.  This choir sings every first and third Sundays of the month during the school year at a different Mass each time.  This choir rehearses on Sundays from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM, but not on the same weekends that this choir sings at Mass.  This choir takes a break during the summer. Please contact Raymond St. Pierre at 703-971-4378 or via email for more information.
